Office of Weather Programs and Projects

The University of Oklahoma’s Office of Weather Programs and Projects (OWPP) is a meteorological research center specializing in the transfer of knowledge and expertise within the central Oklahoma weather community to national and international projects. Created in response to the increasing modernization needs of foreign national hydro-meteorological services (HMS), OWPP is dedicated to the comprehensive assessment of all HMS operational components via modernization Feasibility Studies.

Located in the National Weather Center on the University of Oklahoma’s Lissa and Cy Wagner Research Campus, OWPP has full access to a broad range of meteorological expertise spanning academics, research, operations, and the private sector. As a member of the Weather Sphere – a collaborative partnership centered in Norman, Oklahoma, growing to become international leaders in weather and climate-related education and training, research and development, and operations and services – OWPP is well positioned to provide key connections for any meteorologically-focused project.
