Meteorological and Hydrological Service Modernization Project in the Republic of Croatia
A team of experts from the University of Oklahoma is collaborating with the national hydro-meteorological service of the Republic of Croatia in the development of a comprehensive master plan for modernizing the country’s hydro-meteorological service. The study focuses on an extensive assessment of all components of Croatia’s hydro-meteorological service which include meteorological observation networks, warning systems, numerical modeling, remote sensing, upper air monitoring, and computer resources. Modernization recommendations are provided through an implementation plan and financial support of the project is justified through a detailed cost/benefit analysis.
